It is amazing what you forget you have hiding in your wardrobe. This Cardigan was made by a lady On the Isle of Scalpay .Who she is i cant remember . It was while in Tarbert one day while visiting my Shen (grandad) we took a spin down to Scalpay and it was there i came across some lady's selling some knitting and asked if they could knit me a cardigan and this is it. Mabey Joan Macleod at Calana Crafts (www.calanacrafts.co.uk) might know . And here is a picture of it.

Crofter Yarn Leg- Warmers
Well here they are at long last my LEGWARMERS made in Crofter Yarn ready for this winter instead of last winter. Few wee mistakes but the next pair will be perfect i hope. But i must get on with finishing everything else on the pins 4 scarfs, 1 hat a baby blanket or 2 and not forgetting the jumper i started quite a while ago. I have all that to do as well as a few baby blankets made in Rico pompon yarn. Anyone fancy giving me a hand ..
Grundl Fandango Yarn
Hi there it has been a while ... This is what i am hoping to knit next should be interesting if i can get it right
.Ruffle Scarf knitted on 6mm needles
How to knit with Flamenco.
Start by pulling open the curled fabric by hand. The right side of the fabric is with it curling towards you. Always have this side facing you. Casting on couldn't be easier, just push your needle through the fabric once every 2 to 3 cm along about ( 0.5cm from the top edge of the fabric) until you have 14 loops on your needle. To knit push your right needle through the same hole in the mesh as the cast on stitch but instead of wrapping the yarn around the needle to knit you put the needle through the next length of mesh (again 0.5cm from the edge) and pull the stitch through. It sounds hard but it is very easy once you get going. You knit into the mesh every few cm along until the scarf is the desired length. 3 balls makes a good long adult scarf. 2 balls is enough for a thin boa style scarf or child's length scarf. You can vary the needle size and how close together you knit your stitches to make an intensely frilly or more gentle wavy piece of knitting. As well as scarves this makes a great evening wrap, or frill edging for hems, cuffs, handbags...

LEGWARMER
Well here it is my first attempt at making a Legwarmer. Not perfect in fact far from it .It did start out fine until i reached the Ribbing at the end changed the needles like the pattern said and its not the same as the ribbing at the top of the Legwarmer can anyone tell me why this is. I went to the Knitting group last night with my sock and lets just say a good laugh was had by all at the expense of my sock. The end result will be worth it though.....

CROSSBOST ETC
MY OLD HOME CROSSBOST
I'm home-sick.... Maybe when there finished building my new home in Urgha I will be a bit happier.I think I will head over to crossbost at the end of the week to see mum and dad. I will then nip over to Stornoway and treat my self to something in the sale been held in the Caberfeidh Hotel. Marks and Spencer's are going to be there maybe not a great selection compared to shopping online but I find it very therapeutic wandering round a shop. Now I cant remember the other sale it was there last year and it had some lovely nick knacks worth popping in for a wee look. Another thing that is on in Stornoway this week at the Bridge Centre Bayhead is some kind of Energy Advice Day. I'm going to pop along as they can show you how to drive your car more efficiently which will save petrol.I'm sure theres loads more advice there was an article in the Stornoway Gazette so check it out....

Trying to knit a sock still
Well this is it so far my sock (don't laugh) I am determined to finish a pair of socks by Christmas . When I first started to learn to knit socks on 4 pins oh I found it very FOOTERY (get it) to the point it put me off. So it was suggested to me by Joan to knit on 2 circular needles which i done and hey presto I whizzed along and in no time i reached the length I wanted. Now the head ache is back we have GUSSETS , HEELS ohhh what next ....Well I'VE reached as far as the heel and am about to turn it now after that im flummoxed... So anyone feel free to correct me here I'm now thinking of transferring the sock back onto the 4 pins reason been my mother-in-law can help me from there as she has never knitted with circular needles .... I will get there in the end I hope... But you never know ma bey Santa will bring me a pair .
